In the Realm of the Senses
A book that features six important filmmakers who grew the Japanese New Wave movement, which emerged from the late 1950s to early 1970s. Provocative, politically engaged, and daring, films during that time were starting their explorations of physicality, psychology, and social identity that was aesthetically raw and expressive. Featured confrontational social criticisms and innovative approaches to film structure. I then explored how I can tie in images from the films in the layouts that disrupts the grid and norm.
